Fall Weekend Retreat:  Meditation, Yoga, & Sound Healing

Join Jessica Bowles E-RYT 500 and Megan McFadden RYT 500 for a nourishing weekend to release and replenish!  This 3-day retreat be held in the lush NC mountains, just outside of Asheville, during the beautiful fall season.  The weekend will consist of daily meditation, gentle yoga (open to all levels), opportunities to connect with nature, and farm fresh vegetarian meals.  The weekend will also include special guest Jules Wyatt for a Saturday evening Sound Healing Meditation.

Session Details:
 
Program Session 1:  Importance of Self Nourishment
During this evening session, yoga will discover the importance of retreating and nurturing our whole being (mind, body, and energy). Then you will be lead through a gentle Restorative Yoga practice including calming breathwork, guided relaxation, and supported postures.   Restorative yoga allows your body and mind to glide into a deep relaxed state, as you are able to completely release any tension or unconscious holding in mind and body.

Program Session 2:  Replenish in Nature
This morning session will begin with a 30 minute Yoga practice of gentle movement, breathing, and meditation for a blissful start to your day.  Then we will journey into nature for a mindful walking meditation on beautiful nature trails.  While in nature you will enjoy slowing down and learning to strengthen your natural awareness and take time to create a “nature mandala” with guided intention setting.

Program Session 3:  Restore Inner Awareness
On Saturday afternoon you will begin practice with calming yoga posture and breathwork to lead you into Yoga Nidra, the yogis nap. Yoga Nidra is a systematic method of inducing complete physical, mental and emotional relaxation.  You will rest comfortably in a reclined position while you are guided through breathing techniques, visualizations, and a unique auditory experience. During the practice of yoga nidra, one appears to be asleep but the consciousness is functioning at a deeper level of  inner awareness.

Evening event:  Sound Healing Meditation
With the use of 10 quartz singing bowls, this vibrational therapy tunes the energetic body to optimal balance, helping to remove blockages in the body’s energy channels, as well as opening the main energy centers (chakras) and promote deep relaxation. Each bowl is attuned to a vibration that opens a specific chakra and you will be guided through a meditative journey, bringing awareness to each energy center as the bowls are being played. During the practice you can sit or lay down, get comfy, and allow the vibration of the bowls move through you, as your body and mind to enter a deep meditative state.

Program Session 4:  Finding Ease & Balance
The Sunday morning session will include a discussion on how to bring these practices (things learned or discovered on retreat) into your daily life.  Then we will move through a gentle morning yoga practice to awaken body, increase life-force(prana), and bring clarity to mind.  Class will end with a seated meditation practice, and time to journal and reflect.

Retreat leaders & Special Guest:
 
Jessica Bowles has been practicing yoga and meditation since 1996, receiving her 230hr RYT training through Bodhi Tree Yoga School in Charlotte NC and her 500hr RYT from Asheville Yoga Center.  She has also taught these healing practices in the Lake Norman area for the past 12 years.  Her primary influences are the teachings of Erich Schiffmann and Michael Stone. 
 
Megan McFadden is a certified therapeutic yoga teacher.  She received her training at Agama Yoga Healing Center in Thailand, where she lived and immersed in yoga study and practice.  She has practiced yoga for 7 years and studied over 1000 hours in yoga theory, she views meditation as the essential foundation of her Hatha Yoga practice.
 
Julia Wyatt is a licensed massage therapist, Reiki level II practitioner, and sound therapy healer. She utilizes quartz crystal singing bowls and tuning forks which work with the human bio field. The sound frequencies of the bowls and tuning forks help to heal and balance our bodies by removing blockages in the bodies energy channels, as well as stimulating and opening the main energy centers, known as chakras.
